Between 1906 and 1908, the visionaries Carlos and Fernando Vélez Danies, together with the architect José González “Torerín”, built a majestic plaza in La Serrezuela, designed by the experts Julio Vilostras and Manuel Martelo Jiménez.
On May 18, 1930, the third plaza opened in a Mudejar style, inspired by the Maestranza and the Alhambra Palace, under the direction of the talented Marcial Calvo, with capacity for 4,000 spectators.
In 1935, it was transformed into “Circo Teatro”, adapting for theater and cinema. The last bullfight was held in 1973, before being declared National Heritage in 1995, and eventually falling into disuse.
Today, La Serrezuela reemerges as an emblematic tourist destination, offering unique and memorable experiences for visitors from around the world.
